Week of August 22-26, 2016

Students are really getting a hang of routines. They have already gotten more independent in just 13 school days! Kudos to parents who encourage our little ones to become confident citizens.

This week the students learned to say "I am angry, I am happy, and I am sad." These are useful expressions during read alouds to connect with book characters. They are also practical at Peace Feet. Students are encouraged to say Thank you and You're welcome whenever possible. So many are not able to ask to go to the bathroom in Mandarin. The progress is fantastic!

In Math we continue to count from 0 to 100, writing 0 to 20, and applying one to one correspondence skill when counting. Next week, Mrs. Holmes will introduce counting up from numbers other than 1, and we will reinforce during morning message as well as centers.

Remember, Tuesday and Wednesday will be MAP testing for both classes. See class update email from me for more details.
