Week of October 17-21, 2016

This week, the students began new units in language and Math. Students can now tell someone if a part of their body hurts. (My____hurts.) We are also working on naming two-dimentional shapes. Students have been busy tracing, building, and playing with the shape blocks. Please encourage your child to name shapes in either English or Mandarin outside of school. Being able to identify the differences between flat and solid shapes is going to be helpful.

Thank you for all the families for donating to the GLOBETrot and even taking time out of your busy day to volunteer. All the teachers and students had a blast and it really helps students understand that they worked hard to help raise funds for their amazing school.

|Mandarin Journal| Head Shoulders Knees & Toes / Body Parts

Thank you to the Bluetts for sharing their enthusiasm for learning and immersing in Mandarin away from school! Refer to your Mandarin Journal for the latest thematic unit song. We will begin to apply the words into daily lives such as "My _____ hurts." "Please don't touch my ______." "I use my _____ for _____."

Students who are actively showing what they know away from school learn best. Thank you Booker and family!
