Week of August 18-22, 2014

This week we practiced Mandarin greetings through play and songs. The students have now become more comfortable saying "Zao An! (Good Morning)" in the morning and "Ni Hao (Hello)" as well as "Shang Ce Suo (Go to the Bathroom)". It's only been 1.5 weeks, I am amazed by how quickly children learn and master at the age of five.

In Math, we practiced counting by one's. One to one correspondence is especially important at this stage. Children counted in Mandarin by touching each object. They are also familiarizing with Chinese characters for numbers.

I am attaching a number video to review at home.

Next week we will be introducing members in a family unit (Mom, Dad, and Myself).
In Math, we will continue to familiarize between number 0-10.

Friendly Reminder
*Fresh fruit and veggies for snack only please!
