4 days in!

So far each of my classes have been with me for four days each and I  am amazed by how far they have come in just a short period of time. We are now counting from 1 to 10, recognizing them, and writing numbers 1-3 (一，二，三). My students know the "ni hao song" on cue, able to greet others in Mandarin without hesitant, and are beginning to ask to go to the bathroom(廁所）in Mandarin. The students have also learned color words ( red, yellow, green, and blue). All of the lessons are reinforced by songs, pictures, centers, games, and more songs! Did I mention how much we sing?

The beginning of the school year is always filled with anxiety, excitement, and lots of reassurance. Not to mention the students in my class have to overcome all of the above plus figuring out a foreign language. So kudos to all students and parents for putting your best foot forward to make the first eight days possible.
